Son Mercer

It is the second-largest settlement on the island in terms of size. Chronologically, we know that part of the settlement was active during the pre-talayotic period (before 1500 BC), a factor proven by the remains found in the caves inside the settlement.

• as a hub for controlling the territory
• of a good part of the south coast of the
• island. We highlight as the most visible
• and best-preserved constructions the three
• talayots located on the hill that, together with the
• sanctuary (taula enclosure), embody the public area
• of the settlement.
